Didcot Methodist Church is a town centre church at the heart of the community.
Our Christian community
Didcot Methodist Church is part of the larger Christian community here as part of Churches Together in Didcot & District (CTDD). Ecumenism is informal: ministers meet bimonthly and share leading school assemblies at local schools. We support Prayer Spaces in schools, and help out at the weekly community GWP café and ecumenical summer holiday club. We also work with other churches in CTDD for special services and events.
We are also part of the Wantage and Abingdon Circuit of the Methodist Church. We are called to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out our discipleship in worship and mission. We do this through worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism.
As well as our own activities – including Sunday services, concerts and social events – we host a number of community groups and organisations that rent our facilities.
We are particularly proud to host the Balsam Family Project and the Didcot Volunteer Centre. Balsam is a Christian charity which seeks to express God’s special compassion for all families following biblical principles of love, honour and restoration. The Didcot Volunteer Centre is a group of 40+ volunteers who provide a transport service for people in Didcot and the surrounding villages.
If you would like to hire a room in the church, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Serving the community
We collect food (donated by church members) for Didcot Emergency Food Bank.
We also support the Didcot TRAIN Youth Project, which runs detached youth work for the young people of the town.
The wider world
We are a fairtrade church.
